Police in separate drives detained six alleged robbers and four hijackers while they were taking preparations for their ill attempts in Gazipur early Sunday.
Officer-in-Charge of Bason Police Station Md Mukhter Hossain said a team of police conducted a drive at Islampur graveyard area around 3:00am on information and arrested six people while they were taking preparations for robbery in the area.
Police also recovered a knife, two axes and a lethal weapon from their possession, the OC added. A case was filed.
In another drive, a police team arrested four alleged hijackers around 5:30am while they were trying to snatch people in Jarun Deltamor area under Kashimpur Police Station, said Sheikh Mafijur Rahman, sub-inspector of the police station.
The knives were recovered.
A case was filed in this connection, said SI Mafijur, reports UNB.
