RAB nabs two drug pedlars in C’nawabganj

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two alleged drug traffickers with 2,086 bottles of contraband phensidyl from Dariapur Truck Terminal area under Chapainawabganj sadar upazila Wednesday morning.

The arrestees are Nur Nabi Sheikh alias Mamun, 36, son of Akram Sheikh of Shibpur under Gopalganj sadar upazila, and Md Ripon, 19, son of Saidur Rahman alias Bhoglu of Monakasha Namotola village under Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj district.

RAB officials said acting on a tip off, a team of RAB-5 from Chapainawabganj camp raided the aforesaid area at around 7.30 am and detained a Dhaka-bound mango laden truck (Dhaka Metro NA-15-2106). After searching the baskets of mangoes, RAB found the bottles of phensidyl worth Tk 1 million, BSS reported.

Later, the arrestees were handed over to Chapainawabganj Sadar Police Station. A case was filed in this regard.
