Police recovered the body of a housewife near C&B road in Ashulia, Savar on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Aklima Begum, 25, wife of garment worker Saddam Mollah, hailing from Manikganj district.

Locals said Aklima came to his husband, who lives in a rented house in Zinzira area of Savar, from Manikganj for Eid shopping two days ago.

After completing shopping, she got into a battery-run auto rickshaw for heading back home around 6 am.

Later, locals spotted her body in front of Central Goat Development Farm and informed police.

Police recovered the body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem.

Reports add that the body bored injury marks on it's neck. She might have been strangulated to death by muggers, said sub-inspector Farhad of Savar Model Police Station, reports UNB.
