Police in special drives arrested 79 people, accused in different cases, from eight upazilas of Satkhira district from Wednesday evening to Thursday morning.
Of them, 22 were arrested from Sadar upazila, 11 from Kolaroa upazila, seven from Tala upazila, 10 each from Kaliganj, Debhata, and Assasuni upazila, four from Shyamnagar upazila, and six from Patkelghata upazila, said Inspector Azam Khan of Special Branch of Satkhira police.
Besides, several fresh cases were filed against them, according to a news agency.
