A sexagenarian man was stabbed to death by miscreants at Kurua area in Osmaninagar upazila of Sylhet district early Friday.
The deceased was identified as Yealis Miah, 60, a resident of the area.
Monirul Islam, sub-inspector of Osmaninagar Police Station, said a gang of miscreants intercepted the private car of Yealis in front of Islam Refilling Station around 1:00am while he was returning home.
They attackers stabbed him in the chest indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured.
As car driver Quamruzzaman tried to protect Yealis, the miscreants also stabbed him.
The injured were taken to MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Yealis dead, reports UNB.
