Meat trader hacked dead in Bogura

A meat trader was hacked to death allegedly by his fellow at Gangnagar Majhpara village in Shibganj upazila of Bogura district on Tuesday morning over dues.

The deceased was identified as Saljar Rahman, 60, son of late Baji Mollah of the village, reports UNB.

Witnesses said Saljar locked into an altercation with his co-trader Adil while the former went to the latter's house at the same village seeking his dues.

At one stage of their altercation, Adil chopped Saljar in the throat and head indiscriminately with a sharp weapon, leaving him dead on the spot.

Later, locals caught Adil and handed him over to police after giving him a good beating, said Mizanur Rahman, in-charge of Mokamtala Police Investigation Centre.
