Land dispute leaves two dead in Cumilla

At least two people were killed and 15 others injured in a clash over land related dispute at Shidlai village in Brahmanpara upazila of Cumilla district on Saturday morning.

The deceased were identified as Khorshed Alam, 45, son of Abdul Wadud Member and tea stall owner Shanu Miah, 60, reports UNB.

Witnesses said there was a long standing enmity between Shamsul Haque group and Liton group over a land.

As a sequel to the enmity, the two groups equipped with sharp weapons locked into a fierce clash, leaving Khorshed dead and 16 people injured.

The injured were rushed to Comilla Medical College Hospital where Shanu Miah succumbed to his injuries.

The two deceased belonged to Shamsul's group, said victim's family members.

Shahjahan Kabir, officer-in-charge of Brahmanpara Police Station, said that they recovered the bodies.
