Detectives arrest two over Turag double murder

Detective Branch (DB) of police unearthed the mystery of the double murder case at Turag with the capturing of two people allegedly involved in the killings from the city’s Adabar and Shanirakhra areas on Friday.

“We arrested two suspects, Md Monir Hossain and Md Farid, for their involvement in killing two people at Turag on October 20 last, from Dhaka Udyan at Adabar and Shanirakhra areas at around 4.15 pm and 11.30 pm on Friday respectively,” said a DB official.

Police also recovered a machete and an iron rod, used in the killings, he said, adding that the arrestees confessed their link to the double murder during preliminary interrogation.

Earlier on October 20, police recovered the bodies of Kamal Hossain, 24, son of Shaikh Jalil of Sadarpur in Faridpur district and Imon Shaikh, 25, son of Md Azam Shaikh of Nagarkanda of the same district, from No. 2 plot at Uttara under Turag Police Station, according to BSS.

Shaikh Jalil, father of the victim Kamal, filed a murder case with Turag Police Station in this connection.
