Police recovered the body of a young man from Amtala in the city's Banani area on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Rashed, 38, a bodyguard of Yusuf Sardar Jewel, convener of Banani unit Jubo League.
Being informed by locals, police recovered the body of Rashed from the Amtala road around 5 am and sent it to the local hospital morgue for autopsy.
The victim's wife Moushumi filed a case with Banani Police Station accusing Yusuf.
The body bore several injury marks, said Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (media), reports UNB.
Police are investigating the incident, he added.
