BGB seizes 180,000 yaba pills in Cox’s Bazar

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 180,000 yaba tablets (worth Tk 55 million) from Moulvibazar area in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar in the early hours of Friday.

Acting on secret information, a team of BGB conducted a drive in the area at around 1:45am, said Lt Col Md Asaduzzaman Chowdhury of BGB-2.

Sensing danger, the drug peddlers fled the scene leaving behind the contraband pills, reports UNB.

Later, the team members recovered the yaba pills worth Tk 55 million from the spot. The narcotics will be destroyed later, the officer added.
