BGB seizes $100,000 at Benapole

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive arrested two people along with one lakh US dollars from Raghunathpur border point in Benapole port area on Thursday night.

The arrestees were identified as Maula Box, 35, son of Musa Mallik of Raghunathpur Purbapara village, and Alamgir Hossain, 40, son of Sabed Ali of Swarbanghuda village.

Tipped off, a team of BGB-49 conducted a drive in the area and arrested Maula and Alamgir along with the US dollars while passing by Raghunathpur Swarbanghuda Government Primary School around 11:30 pm, said Commanding officer of BGB-49 Lt Col Mohammad Ariful.

The arrestees were handed over to Benapole Police Station, reports UNB.
