BGB arrest three with Hundi money, hemp in Benapole

In separate incidents, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested three people along with Tk 2.72 million Hundi money, 1200 bottles of

Phensidyl syrup and five maunds of hemp in Benapole on Friday. 

The arrestees were identified as Abdur Rahim, 25, son of Aynal Hossain of Doppara village, Mashiur Rahman, 35, son of Mohammad Ali, and Nuruzzaman, son of Dinu Morol, of Baropota village in Sharsha upazila.

On information, a BGB team conducted two drives in Benapole Bazar and Putkhali border and arrested Abdur Rahim and Mashiur Rahman along with Tk 2.22 million and 0.5 million Hundi money respectively, said Lt Col Ariful Haque, commanding officer of BGB Battalion-49.

In another drive, the BGB members arrested Nuruzaman along with 1200 bottles of Phensidyl and 5 maunds of hemp from Raghunathpur border in Putkhali. 

Separate cases were filed with the Benapole Port Police Station, reports UNB.
