BCL activist stabbed to death in Sylhet

An activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was stabbed to death at Upashahar in Sylhet on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Jahid Hossain, 18, son of Abul Kalam of Tero Ratan area and Class-X student of a local school. He was an activist belonging to Humayun Rashid Sumon group.

Akhter Hossain, officer-in-charge of Shahparan Police Station, said Jahid was locked into an altercation with several BCL activists in front of Government Kibria College in the afternoon.

At one stage, they stabbed him with a sharp weapon, leaving him dead on the spot.

On information, police recovered the body, reports UNB.
