Assailants shoot BCL leader dead in Kushtia

A leader of local unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was shot to death by some unidentified miscreants at Faraji Para in Sadar upazila of Kushtia early Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Nazmul Hossain, 27, a vice-president of district unit of BCL and son of Altaf Hossain of Sadar upazila.

Atiqur Rahman, sub-inspector of Kushtia Model Police Station, said a group of miscreants swooped on Nazmul and shot him in the head while he was sleeping at his residence.

Later, critically injured Atiqur was rushed to Kushtia General Hospital where the doctors declared him dead, reports UNB.

However, the motive behind the killing could not be known immediately, said police.
