ACC approves chargesheets against Falu, wife

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Tuesday approved chargesheets against former BNP lawmaker Mosaddek Ali Falu and his wife on charges of acquiring wealth beyond known sources of income and concealing asset information.

ACC Deputy Director Md Jahangir Alam filed the case against Falu, also chairman and managing director of a private television channel NTV, with Ramna police on May 15, 2017.

ACC Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said Falu was accused of amassing illegal wealth worth Tk 178.6 million (Tk 17.86 crore). According to case documents, the BNP leader concealed information about his wealth in the asset details submitted to ACC, reports UNB.

The commission also filed a case in the same year against Falu's wife for allegedly acquiring wealth beyond known sources of income. She concealed information of the wealth worth around Tk 40 million (Tk 4 crore) according to the case.
