Two workers have died in a crane accident at the under-construction Rampal power plant in Bagerhat on Saturday.
The deceased were Nasir Hossain, 27, son of Ansar Ali from Kalinagar village in Chapainawabganj’s Sadar upazila, and Asadur Rahman, son of Fazlur Rahman from some village in Rampal upazila.
Confirming the fatality count, Rampal Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge Md Lutfor Rahman said the two were critically injured after being hit by snapped piles of a crane during the construction work at the plant.
They died while undergoing treatment at Khulna Medical College and Hospital later at night, he said.
Earlier on March 3, two workers were killed after a container fell on them while working in the same power plant.
