A total of 551 more people have tested positive for Covid-19 in all eight districts in the division on Sunday, taking the caseload to 88,891 since the pandemic began, BSS reports.
With five more Covid-19 related fatalities, reported on the same day, the death toll reached 1,417 in the division including 598 in Bogura, 255 in Rajshahi with 151 in its city and 143 in Chapainawabganj, said Dr Habibul Ahsan Talukder, divisional director of Health.
The new daily infection figure shows a little-bit falling trend compared to the previous day’s figure of 723.
Among the infected people, 66,091 have, so far, been cured of the lethal virus with 760 new recoveries reported on the day.
A total of 13,272 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at different designated hospitals here.
Besides, all the positive cases for Covid-19 have, so far, been brought under necessary treatment while 20,560 were kept in isolation units of different hospitals for institutional supervision. Of them, 14,140 have by now been released.
On the other hand, 490 more people have been sent to home and institutional quarantine afresh while 370 others were released from isolation during the last 24 hours till 8 am today.
Of the total positive cases, the highest 143 were detected in Rajshahi, including 131 in its city, followed by 136 in Sirajganj, 96 in Bogura, 72 in Pabna, 37 each in Natore and in Chapainawabganj, 20 in Naogaon and 10 in Joypurhat districts.
With the newly detected patients, the district-wise break-up of the total cases now stands at 25,569 in Rajshahi, including 20,555 in its city, 5,243 in Chapainawabganj, 6,107 in Naogaon, 7,339 in Natore, 4,288 in Joypurhat, 19,805 in Bogura, 9,636 in Sirajganj and 10,904 in Pabna.
A total of 1,04,325 people have, so far, been kept under quarantine since March 10 last year to prevent the community transmission of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19).
Of them, 93,127 have, by now, been released as they were given clearance certificates after completing their 14-day quarantine.
