A Dhaka court on Wednesday ordered the authorities concerned to confiscate the properties of five people including Anisul Hoque, associate editor of Prothom Alo, in a case filed over the death of Dhaka Residential Model College student Nayeemul Abrar Rahat from electrocution, reports UNB.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jashim passed the order, said Omar Faruk Asif, the lawyer of Abrar’s father Md Mujibur Rahman.

The court also fixed September 20 for submitting the report, said the lawyer.

The four other accused are: Kabir Bakul, head of event and activation of Prothom ALo, Mahitul Alam Pavel, senior sub-editor of Kishore Alo and two executives Shah Paran Tushar and Shuvashish Pramanik.

Ninth-grader Nayeemul Abrar died after being electrocuted behind the stage at an event organised by Kishor Alo, a publication of Prothom Alo, at Dhaka Residential Model College on November 1 last.

The victim's father Mujibur Rahman filed the case against ten people including Prothom Alo editor Matiur Rahman with Dhaka court on November 6.

On January 16, the court issued a warrant for the arrest of Prothom Alo editor Matiur Rahman, Anisul Hoque and seven other people in connection with case.

Matiur Rahman and four others secured bail in the case.
