A two-day cultural festival will be held across the country on July 20-21, aiming to build a culturally aware new generation and spread cultural practices among people.

Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor came up with the announcement at a press briefing at the secretariat on Wednesday. Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu was present at the briefing.

Addressing the press briefing, Asaduzzaman Noor said the Cultural Affairs Ministry will arrange the festival in each district with the support of district administration, district Shilpakala Academy and district information office.

All activities of the festival will be conducted through forming an organising committee chaired by deputy commissioner in each district. Already, a directive in this regard has been sent to the deputy commissioners.

The festival will be held with the participation of local artistes, poets and cultural activists.

A documentary video on the government's public welfare activities and development works will be screened at the cultural festival, reports UNB.
