Youth dies after consuming excessive liquor in Satkhira

A young man died after allegedly taking 'too much foreign made alcohol' at Shuktia village in Patkelghata upazila of Satkhira early Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Kamal Gazi, 27, son of Abdul Gazi of the village.

According to locals, Kamal along with his neighbours Khalil Sardar and Salam Golder consumed foreign made alcohol near a pond at around 9:00 pm on Saturday night.

At one stage, the victim fell sick, they added.

However, they took him to Satkhira Sadar Hospital at around 3:00 pm where the duty doctor declared him dead, said Rezaul Islam, officer-in-charge of Patkelghata Police Station.

According to the medical certificate, Kamal died of cardiac arrest, Rezaul said, UNB reported.

"The incident is being investigated," he added.
