Water levels fall in most rivers

Water levels at most rivers stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have recorded fall which will continue until Monday 6.0pm, says a BSS report.

The water levels at 80 rivers have marked recorded fall, however the levels of 10 rivers have been rising during until Sunday noon, according to a bulletin FFWC issued Sunday night.

Monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay. A low pressure area is likely to form over Northwest Bay and adjoining area until 6.0pm Monday, it added.

The government has allocated 28,650 tonnes of rice, Taka 4,93,50,000 in cash, dry foods of Taka 0.118 million, 8,500 tents, 54,700 bundles of tins, Taka 164.1 million for constructing houses, Taka 1.8 million for buying baby foods and Taka 2.4 million for buying foods for animals from July 01 for the flood affected people, the release added.
