Two people, including a girl, were killed and 10 other injured as a bus hit a truck at Faltita Bazar on the Khulna-Mawa highway under Fakirhat upazila of the district this morning, reports BSS.
Police identified the deceased as Nasrin Akhter, 18, daughter of Nasir Talukder, of Doiboggahati village in Morelganj upazila and Monir Sheikh, 38, son of Rustom Sheikh of Balbunia village of the same upazila.
Inspector of Katakhali Highway Police M Azizul Haque said the accident occurred when a bus 'Banaful Paribahan' rammed into a jute-laden standing truck, leaving 12 bus passengers injured.
Of the injured, the duo died on their way to Khulna Medical College Hospital and another three are stated to be critical, he added.
