Two ‘commit suicide’ in Magura

Two, including a teenage a boy, committed suicide in different parts of Magura district on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Mistaul Islam, 14, son of Manik Ali of Belnagar village in sadar upazila and Kamrul Islam, 50, son of Habibur Rahman of Jashpur village in Muhammadpur upazila.

Sirajul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Magura Police station, said Mistaul, a Class-IX student of Magura Government Boys High School, hanged himself at his house.

Earlier, the victim was blamed for stealing a mobile phone of one of his classmates, police suspect the boy might have killed himself over the allegation.

Police recovered the body and sent it to local hospital morgue for an autopsy.

In another incident, Kamrul committed suicide by consuming poison on Monday night after returning home from Dhaka city three days ago, said Rabiul Islam, officer-in-charge of Muhammadpur Police Station.

His body was sent to Magura Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy, UNB reported.

Two cases of unnatural deaths were filed with the police stations.
