Two accused in Barguna murder case remanded

A Barguna court on Saturday placed two accused in the Rifat Sharif killing case on a five-day remand for interrogation over the gruesome murder.

Those remanded are Tiktak Hridoy and Rafiul Islam Rabbi, two FIR-named accused in the case, according to UNB.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Sirajul Islam Gazi granted the remand after the investigation officer (IO) of the case Humayun Kabir produced them before his court seeking remand for them.

Rifat Sharif, 22, was hacked to death by criminals in front of his wife Ayesha Siddika Minni in broad daylight in the district town on June 26. The incident was caught on surveillance camera.

The main accused, Sabbir Ahmed alias Nayon Bond, was killed in a reported gunfight with police in the Sadar upazila on Tuesday.
