Truck, microbus collide head-on in Rajshahi, killing three

Three people were killed and another was injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a microbus on Dhaka-Rajshahi highway in Puthia upazila on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Mira Begum, 50, wife of Golam Kibria and her grandson Al-Amin, 25, residents of Balutuli village in Bholahat upazila of Chapainawabganj, and microbus driver Mansur Ali, 32, son of late Mafiz Uddin, a resident of Thakurgaon sadar upazila, reports a news agency.

Habibur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Puthia Highway Police Camp, said the accident took place on the rain-drenched road at noon, leaving Mira Begum dead on the spot.

The injured were taken to Upazila Health Complex and later shifted to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital where Al-Amin and Mansur Ali succumbed to their injuries.
