Rajshahi court jails bus driver

A court in Rajshahi sentenced a bus driver to one year and three months jail in an accident case.

Rajshahi Chief Judicial Magistrate Court-3 Judge Ujjal Mahmud on Tuesday sentenced Selim Khan, 50, for killing a motorcyclist in a road accident.

The court also fined him Tk 5,000, in default, to suffer one month more in rigorous imprisonment.

According to the prosecution, Goutam Kumar Sarkar, 22, of Parisho village in Tanore upazila, was killed when a minibus hit his motorcycle in 2015, UNB reported.

Sunil Kumar, maternal uncle of the victim filed the case against Selim Khan with Tanore Police Station.
