Police recover bullet-hit body of ‘drug pedlar’ in Khulna

Police recovered the bullet-hit body of a suspected drug trader from Khejurtala village in Batiaghata upazila of Khulna in the early hours of Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Asaduzzaman Mitul, 28, son of Hasan Lalon Fakir of Labanchara.

Being tipped off that two gangs of drug traders were exchanging bullets over internal feud, a team of police went to the spot and rescued Mitul with bullet injury at around 3am, said Rabiul Kabir, officer-in-charge of Batiaghata Police Station.

Later, he was taken to Batiaghata Upazila Health Complex where the doctors declared him dead, UNB reported.

Police recovered a one-shutter gun, three bullets and some explosive-like substances from the spot.

Mitul was wanted in several cases including that of drugs, said police.
