Nine people died and four others sustained injuries in separate road crashes in Madhabdi and Shibpur upazilas of Narsingdi district on Monday.
In Kandail area of Madhabdi, head-on collision between a Narayanganj-bound bus and a Beanibazar-bound microbus killed six people on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in the morning.
Officer-in-charge of Madhabdi Police Station, Elius Miah said, the accident took place around 6:30 am leaving four passengers of the microbus spot dead and three others wounded.
Among the injured, one died in the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital and another died in the Narsingdi Sadar Hospital.
The identity of the dead could not be known immediately, reports UNB.
In Shibpur, three people were killed and three others injured when a bus hit a human hauler in Kararchar area around 9:30 am.
The deceased were identified as Arman (50), a schoolteacher, Masum (45), an Imam and Sohag (22).
Narsingdi district hospital sources said that the accident left Arman dead on the spot and five others, including Masum and Sohag, wounded.
The injured were rushed to the hospital where Masum and Sohag succumbed to their injuries.
