The Sonagazi Police Station In Feni on Thursday evening witnessed a surprising marriage when a girl was married off to a youth who attempted to kidnap her on the previous day, reports UNB.
Officer-in-charge of Sonagazi Police Station Mainuddin said Yakub, 26, son of Nur Nabi of Purbo Purba Chandrapur Union had a love relationship with the girl and they planned to flee together as the girl’s family had no consent to their marriage.
Yakub and his younger brother went to the girl’s house in Dashani area of Char Majlishpur union to pick her up on Wednesday while the girl’s family members caught them and informed police.
On the next day, the girl’s mother went to Sonagazi Police Station to file a case in this regard while Yakub’s family rushed there and places a marriage proposal of the lovers.
As both the families agreed, the police station held a marriage ceremony instead of filing a case and Yakub took her newly married wife home from the police station, said the OC.
