Mariners’ Society to have its own building

The construction work of 20-storied building of Bangladesh Mariners’ Society was started as Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan, MP laid the foundation stone of the building Sunday, said a press release.

 The building will be named BMS Tower at Baridhara in the city.

The programme was attended by high government officials including Shipping and Foreign secretaries and good numbers of mariners. President of the Bangladesh Mariners’ Society MA Rashid presided over the function.

The tower will have many facilities including office rooms, meeting rooms, conference hall, swimming pool, fitness centre, shopping mall, restaurant, rest house, health and help centers and library.

1500 members of the Bangladesh Mariners’ Society and its future members will be able to enjoy the facilities.     

In his address the BMS president MA Rashid narrated the work of the organization for the development and welfare of seafarers.

Bangladesh Mariners’ Society is a Non-Political, Profitable Social welfare organization, dedicated to the Development and Welfare of Seafarers, involve in various Marine profession, be it Merchant Marine, Ship-owners, Ship-yard owners, Ship-breakers, Marine Fishing, Offshore Personnel or Marine protection e.g. Naval or Coastguard Personnel.
