A man was found dead at Bangladesh Agriculture Research Institute (BARI) in Gazipur on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Ansarul Haque Talukdar, 55, son of Mujibur Rahman of Phulbari upazila in Mymensingh.

Sheikh Mizanur Rahman, inspector (investigation) of Sadar Police Station, said Ansarul used to live at a staff quarter of BARI as his wife is an employee of the institute.

Besides, his daughter Jannatul Ferdous Arbin is also an employee of the institute.

Recently, Arbin went to the village home to spend her maternal leave and her mother was living at her flat in her absence. On Friday night, Ansarul took his dinner at his daughter's flat as his wife was there and went out intending to go to his own flat around 10:45pm.

Ansarul's son Mahin said, he received a mobile call after an hour of his father's departure saying that his father was lying bloodstained near their house.

Later, he was taken to Shaheed Tajuddin Medical College Hospital where the doctors said he was brought dead, said Pronoy Bhushon Das, a resident medical officer of the hospital.

However, the reason behind the killing couldn't be known immediately and nobody was arrested till Saturday over the killing, reports UNB.
