IGP seeks help from all to fight against violence

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Mohammad Javed Patwary said police force is bound to provide desired services and security to the mass people, reports BSS.

"Now, the police force is too much strong to face any kinds of destructive activities including sabotage and violence in the country by the troublemakers to ensure peace and tranquility of the mass people," he said.

Javed Patwary came up with the comments while addressing an elite assembly organised by district police on the premises of the Palashbari Police Station here on Monday after inaugurating newly-constructed building through unveiling the plaque as the chief guest.

Deputy inspector general (DIG) of Rangpur range Debdash Bhattacharjwa, Commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police Mohammad Abdul Alim Mahmud, Additional DIG Mazid Ali, RAB-13 Commander Mozammel Haque, Deputy Commissioner Gautam Chandra Pal and President of Palashbari Upazila Awami League Abu Bakar Prodhan were present as special guests with Superintendent of Police Engineer Abdul Mannan Miah in the chair.

The people of the district feel embarrassment when they remember a number of tragic incidents that took place by vested quarters here in 2013 and 2014, the chief guest said.

It is mentionable that the parliamentary election is coming, so that the fire terrorists and the criminals can plan to conduct terrorism and sabotage again to make the country unstable but the police will must resist it, he added.

In this context, the IGP also sought overall cooperation of the people to fight against the criminals and root out their activities from the country for ever.

"Bangladesh is in the highway of development," Mr Patwary said, adding that the police will be the associates of turning Bangladesh into middle income country by 2021 and developed one by 2041 envisioned by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
