A college student apparently killed himself at his aunt's house in Baklia area of Chattogram on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Minhazul Karim, 19, son of Rezaul Karim, a resident of Khansama village in Anwara upazila. He used to stay with his paternal aunt's family and attended college from there.
Karim, a HSC examinee, had been suffering from depression for several months, Moin Uddin, officer-in-charge of Baklia Police Station, claimed quoting family members.
The young man's father suffered a huge loss in business and moved to their village home with family members, UNB reported quoting the official.
He hanged himself from the ceiling last night, said the OC.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
