Four doctors suspended for negligence in Narail

Four doctors of Narail Sadar Hospital have been suspended for negligence in duty and posted as Officers on Special Duty (OSD).

The four doctors are junior consultants (cardiology) Md Sawkat Ali and Md Robiul Alam, senior consultant (Surgery) Md Akram Hossain and medical officer ASM Sayem, reports UNB.

Narail Sadar Hospital Supervisor Doctor Abdus Shakur said following the second gazette notification of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the doctors were suspended on Monday afternoon.

Earlier on April 28, the four doctors were sent for OSD after a gazette notification of the ministry.

Cricketer Mashrafe bin Mortaza, also a MP, paid a surprise visit to patients in different departments and wards of the hospital and found three doctors absent from duty on April 24.

Later, he talked over phone with Supervisor Doctor Abdus Shakur and the absent senior consultant (Surgery) doctor Md Akram Hossain.
