A good number of people are earning good profit by making popular lentil dumpling (Kumro Bori) this winter.

Female members of a good number of families are generally engaged in making the item and earn some money to support their families.

The traditional food item, made from lentil and wax gourd (Chal Kumra), is being sold at a high rate this year.

It is sold at Tk 4,000 to Tk 4,200 each maund in the wholesale market.

"I have started making 'Kumra Bori' from the last week of October. I spent Tk 4,500 as the production cost and expect to make a profit of Tk 40,000," said Utpoly of Sahapara under Gurudaspur upazila.

Some artisans said if they get short-term loan facility from the bank they would able to expand the seasonal business.
