Construction worker drowns in river after falling from bridge in Gopalganj

A construction worker accidentally drowned in Poysa river after falling from an under-construction bridge in Gopalganj on Friday.

He was Shamrat Mollah, 28, son of Ishahak Mollah, a resident of Chat Matibhanga village in Najirpur upazila of Pirojpur district.

Mohammad Kamrul Faruk, officer-in-charge of Kotalipara Police Station, said Shamrat fell down from the bridge at Ramshil in Kotalipara upazila while working with a group of workers and drowned in the river, UNB reported.

The body was recovered from the river in the evening.
