A construction worker died after being electrocuted at his workplace in Azimpur area in Dhaka Thursday morning.
The deceased was identified as Anwar Hossain Moqaddes, aged around 40, son of Mahbub Ali, hailing from Jaldhaka upazila of Nilphamari District.
Selim Reza, a close relative of the deceased said, Anwar was electrocuted at his workplace around 8:15 am while switching on a piling machine.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where the duty doctors declared him dead around 9 am, according to a local media report.
The dead body has been kept in the hospital Morgue for an autopsy, said Sub-Inspector (SI) Bachchu Mia of DMCH Police Camp.
