Chittagong road crash leaves two dead, injures four

An ambulance driver and a cancer patient were killed and four others sustained injuries in a road accident in Boro Darogar Haat area on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway in Sitakunda upazila of Chittagong on early Thursday.

The deceased were Akkas Mia (34), the driver of an ambulance, son of Shamsul Haque of Patuakhali district and its passenger cancer patient Akkas Ali (65), son of Anwar Ali of Agrabad area of the port city.

Wasi Ahmed, senior station officer of Sitakunda fire service said, the accident took occurred around 4:45 am when a covered van hit the ambulance, leaving the ambulance driver and its passenger spot dead and four others injured.

The injured were rushed to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital while the bodies were handed over to Sitakunda Police Station, the fire service official added, reports UNB.
