Chattogram clash leaves youth dead

A young man, who was injured in a clash between two groups over establishing supremacy at Paschim Khulshi in the port city on Friday night, died at a hospital in Chattogram on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Md Abdur Shukkur Hridoy, 22, son of Abul Khayer of Jhaotala area in the city.

Officer-in-charge of Khulshi Police Station Sheikh Md Nasir Uddin said, the clash broke out at night as two rival groups attacked each other over establishing supremacy in the area, leaving nine people, including Shukkur, severely injured.

The injured were taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH), UNB reported.

Shukkur succumbed to his injuries at around 11:00 am on Saturday at the hospital, added the OC.
