Locals said, normal life was disrupted by the shower as people of Chattogram city remained confined to their residences as well as work places from morning to late in the afternoon as rains, which started on Tuesday night and continued till Wednesday morning, left the city, especially its low-lying areas, water-clogged for several hours.

"The sufferings of the people know no bound due to water-logging today (Wednesday) only because of several hours' of raining," said a city-dweller who remained stranded for several hour in a low-lying area that went under from knee-deep to waist-deep water for the downpour.

"The downpour started from last (Tuesday) night and continued till this (Wednesday) morning. The local Met Office forecast more rains for tonight and tomorrow," said an office-bound resident of a city area.
