BR fines 86 passengers for travelling without tickets

Bangladesh Railway (BR) today (Sunday) fined 86 passengers of two trains Tk 32,700 for travelling without tickets from Lalmonirhat on different routes under Lalmonirhat railway division, officials said.

Led by Lalmonirhat Divisional Railway Traffic Superintendent of BR Shawkat Jamil Mohoshi, it’s Assistant Traffic Superintendent Sajjat Hossain and other BR officials conducted the special ticket checking drives.

During the drives, BR officials found that 86 passengers of the Dhaka bound Lalmoni Express and Dinajpur bound Demu Train from Lalmonirhat were travelling without tickets and fined them Tk 32,700 on the spots, reports BSS.

“We are conducting the day-long special ticket checking drives since this morning in different trains on various routes under Lalmonirhat railway division today,” Shawkat Jamil Mohoshi briefed media over cell phone at 2:30 pm.
