Bogura road mishaps claim three lives

Three people were killed and 38 others injured in separate road accidents in Bogura today (Sunday).

The deceased were identified as Sajjad Ali, 20, son of Ranju Mia under Gobindaganj upazila in Gaibandha district, bus driver Mithu Mia, 30, and bus supervisor Jahidul Haque, 25, a resident of Shamserdighi area under Shibganj upazila of the district.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sherpur Thana Humayun Kabir said an accident occurred when a Dhaka-bound bus of Ena Paribahan collided head-on with another bus of Chadni Travellers in Mohipur area under Sherpur upazila, leaving 32 people injured around 12:05 am.

Of the inured, Sajjad Ali and Mithu Mia died on the way to hospital.

Another accident took place when a Dhaka-bound bus of SR Paribahan hit a stationed truck from behind at Dhunatmor in Sherpur upazila in the early hours of the day, leaving nine people injured, the OC added.

The injured victims were taken to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital (SZRMCH) where Jahidul succumbed to his injuries, BSS reported.

Sherpur police seized the bus of SR Paribahan. The bodies were sent to SZRMCH morgue for autopsy.
