BGB nabs two with US $89,800 in Jashore

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh arrested two people with US $89,800 (Tk 7.543m) from Amrakhali check post at Benapole port area in Jashore on Thursday.

The arrestees were identified as Obaidur Rahman, 27, son of Amir Hossain, and Masud Molla, 30, son of Kawsar Molla of Narail district.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of BGB-49 led by Subedar Mizanur Rahman intercepted a Jashore-bound bus from Benapole at around 6:00 am, and arrested the two believed to be hundi traders along with the money, said Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Ariful Haque, commanding officer of BGB-49 Battalion, reports UNB.

Later the arrestees were handed over to Benapole Port Police.
