Sylhet train accident kills two

Two men have been killed as they attempted to board a moving train at Sylhet Railway Station.

The Dhaka-bound inter-city Upoban Express left Sylhet on Saturday at around 10:15 pm right when the incident occurred, said Sylhet Railway Police Station OC Jahangir Alam.

“Two men tried to board the moving train while it was about 50 yards away from the station. They fell and were crushed beneath the train, dying on the spot.”

The bodies have been sent to Sylhet’s Osmani Medical College Hospital. The victims have yet to be identified, bdnews24 reports.

Locals told police that the two men worked as rickshaw pullers in the Keen Bridge area, but additional details were not available.
