Police recovered the hanging body of Sub-Inspector of Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) Sylhet regional office from his room at ACC staff quarters (barrack) in Bagbari area of Sylhet city on Sunday.
Goushul Hossain, OC of Kotwali Police Station said police primarily suspect that Layez Uddin may have committed suicide out of some frustration.
Police recovered a letter from his room. In this letter he wrote he applied for Tk 0.30 million of his provident fund. But the upper divisional officer of the office, Komor Uddin, did not help him to get the money.
Filled with sorrow and disappointment, he decided to take his own life, OC added.
Himel Ahmed, son of Layez Uddin, filed a case accusing Komor Uddin for forcing his father to commit suicide.
In case statement Himel said Komor Uddin harassed his father on several occasions in different ways.
Komor Uddin has been absconding since the incident.
Police are trying to arrest him, OC added.
The body was sent to MAG Osmani Medical College and Hospital for autopsy.
