At least 15 shops were burned down and 15 people sustained burn injuries in a fire that broke out at a market in Moiddhya Baburhat in Chandpur sadar upazila on Saturday.
The affected shop owners said estimated loss incurred by the fire is about Tk 15 million.
Witnesses said the fire ensued from an electric generator around 2:30 pm and soon spread to nearby shops.
On information, fire-fighters from Chandpur Fire Service and Civil Defense Station rushed there and doused the flame around 4pm.
