14 housed locked down in Nilphamari

Fourteen houses were put under lockdown at Titpara village in Dimla upazila of Nilphamari on Saturday after a young man of the village tested positive for coronavirus.

Civil Surgeon Ranajit Kumar Varman said Rana, 23, son of Azizul Haque , returned home a few days ago with coronavirus -like symptoms, reports UNB.

His samples were sent to Dhaka for test and he was found positive for the virus, the civil surgeon said.

The local administration immediately put 14 houses of the village under lockdown to prevent further transmission of the deadly virus, he said, adding that the youth was kept at the isolation unit of Sadar Hospital.
