Coordinated humanitarian efforts uplift a nation: LGRD minister

Local Government, Rural Development and Coperative Minister M Tajul Islam has said nation's upliftment depends on noble work for humanity as it gives a feeling of dignity and mental peace.

"Life is for life," he said while addressing a reception for blood donors at the Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh on Tuesday evening.

Quantum Foundation organised the reception to honour about 300 blood donors for donating blood at least 3, 10, 25 and 50 times as members of lifelong, silver, Golden and Platinum clubs respectively.

QF Chief Coordinator Madam Nahar Al Bukhari chaired the function where foundation's Director M Rezaul Hasan was present.

Kawkab As Sadia and M Mehedi Hasan also shared their feeling on behalf of blood donors and regular recipients of blood from the Quantum Blood Lab respectively on this occasion.

The minister as the chief guest said coordinated humanitarian efforts can take a nation forward as it helps earn sacred feelings and mental peace. He, howeever, laid emphasis on doing the work unitedly to make such kind of humanatarian work easy.

The speakers made a clarion call to the donors to continue their nobel work for humanitarian ground to meet the growing demand for blood in the country. 

The QF organises the blood donor reception programme regularly to inspire donors continuing blood donation in time. 

The foundation has fulfilled a portion of the country's demand of 10 million unit bloods every year. This year, 1,08,000 blood units were supplied to the blood recipients collecting from 35,000 donors.
