BOGURA, July 24: Hundreds of commuters are suffering much due to bad shape of Dupchanchia-Talora link road under Dupchanchia upazila of the district.
Vehicles like good-laden trucks, three wheelers, rickshaws, vans, CNG-run auto-rickshaws and buses are plying the road at risk.
Locals said road accidents are happening most often here.
Authority concerned does not take any action regarding this through they have been informed earlier.
In a recent visit at the road the correspondent found that the road was serious damaged at some important points nearby the Diabetic Hospital and Shah Ehtebaria Kamil Madrasah.
All types of vehicles were plying the portion of the road slowly.
People from Nandigram, Sherpur, Shajahanpur, Adamdighi, Kahaloo, Shibganj, Dupchanchia and Akkelpur upazilas are using the road for transporting agri items to the market.
Students are the worst suffers due to bad shape of the road, the locals added.
Mobarak Hossain, a rice mill owner, said he has no way but to use the road daily. He urges to the authority concerned to repair the road on immediate basis.
The Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) official said over 20 to 25 spots on the road were damaged in the landslide previous year.
"We have already sent letters to the higher authority for fund allocation to start the repair work", the official added.
