Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) rescued 18 abducted fishermen on Friday in a special drive in the Sundarbans area.
Besides, 10 boats were also recovered from the area during the drive.
The west zone of Bangladesh Coast Guard conducted the rescue operation, according to a press release.
No one was arrested in this connection However, one boat of the alleged pirates was sized, added the release.
Coast guard members released the rescued fishermen and handed over the boats to local administration.
Operations around the areas under the BCG surveillance will continue to maintain law and order, the release further added.
